Underpinned by the schools mission statement ‘Life in all its fullness’ 6th formers are well prepared for the exciting challenges of young adulthood and beyond through participating in high quality curricular and enrichment provision to ensure they leave school as well-rounded, confident and reflective individuals ready to face the challenges of the 21st Century. 

All students study 3 subjects from a wide variety of academic and vocational subjects offered to them.  As well as the subjects listed below, SFX students also have the opportunity to study subjects at St Julie’s as part of our collaboration. During the week students will also study RE and have a Wednesday afternoon dedicated to enrichment activities.

Our Sixth Form is different from the rest of the school as students are based in the Sixth Form Centre.  Here students have access to a large common room, a Sixth form Library, ICT facilities, specialist Sixth form classrooms and their Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Headteacher. Both the Head of Sixth Form and Assistant  Headteacher are available everyday to support and guide students through life in the Sixth form, their studies and their future after SFX.

Ofsted October 2021 stated: 

“… subject curriculums in ..the sixth form focus precisely on what pupils and students need to know and when they should learn this content. This helps pupils to build on their knowledge and deepen their understanding.”

“All sixth-form students get on well with each other during lessons and social times.”

“Pupils and students benefit from effective careers information, advice and guidance, such as careers fairs. Students in the sixth form value the support that they receive for applications to university and apprenticeships. Leaders ensure that all pupils and students are supported to move on to education, training and employment.”
